This vacancy is for a GS - 1173 - 9, Housing Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, CG ACADMEY MWR SECTION in NEW LONDON, Connecticut. You will serve as a/an Housing Management Specialist and be responsible for the administration and management of the Owned Housing, Unaccompanied Personnel Permanent and Transient housing, and privatized housing programs.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Receiving and processing applications for housing. Responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive housing inspection program for family owned and Unaccompanied Personnel Housing (UPH) facilities in accordance with Coast Guard housing policies. Determining housing eligibility and requirements of applicants while following established schedules and procedures in carrying out activities related to the assignment, use, operation, and management of housing assets. Responsible for the development, implementation and execution of a comprehensive housing inspection program for family and UPH housing facilities in accordance with Coast Guard Housing policies. Conducting, coordinating and initiating assignment, termination, maintenance, safety and cleanliness inspections of all CG housing assets. Controlling and arranging the repair, storage and distribution of UPH furnishings and the programming of funds for their replacement. Reviews local policies to ensure compliance with service fees associated with UPH assignments. Reasonable Accommodation Information To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Processing housing applications and maintaining rental or leasing properties files/ information. Conducting or coordinating inspections of units to evaluate the cleanliness, maintenance and habitability of the unit, furnishing, equipment, and facilities. Resolving a variety of housing problems by assembling facts and evaluating information on a multitude of issues. Submitting work order requests and making recommendations for repairs and improvements. OR Have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR A combination of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in or related to the work of this position and graduate level education that provided the specific knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
