STAFF ACCOUNTANT at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command

About the role

You will serve as a Staff Accountant in the Financial Management Directorate, FM1 of NAVFAC OSF. You will provide oversight and control of design, development and implementation of the accounting, finance and financial management systems or programs. You will review accounting procedures for compliance with financial management regulations and guidance. You will identify financial adjustments to reconcile and ensure account accuracy. You will initiate action to correct deficiencies in accounting policies, procedures, and methods of operations. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience conducting complex research and analysis of financial data (Ex. Tie-points, journal vouchers, fluctuation analysis, etc.) for accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures. Experience reviewing artifacts and reconciliations from system conversions for accuracy and reasonableness. Experience coordinating correction action to resolve accounting and disbursing problems identified during the review of financial systems or as result of operational activities.
