About the role

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA ESS OFF Security Management Divison. Develops Command-wide plans, programs, and policies for all core security disciplines (Information, Physical, Industrial, Operations, and Personnel), as well as Multi-hazard Preparedness Response (MHPR) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Oversees the management of the security incident program, evaluates actions and makes recommendations to resolve allegations concerning security activities, coordinating with the appropriate command leaders. Advises, and assists Command managers and top-level officials on interpretation and implementation of policy and provides information on new developments and advances in security processes, methods, and application. Serves as program manager/technical authority for the agency on the development, implementation and conduct of highly classified, sensitive security programs. Performs administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff members supervised. Plans and carries out studies and projects that result in the issuance of Command-wide security policy. In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Managing security related programs or projects in an Information Technology environment to ensure security requirements are met and adhere to standards and regulations. or Experience implementing security concepts, principles, and practices in programs of such as personnel security, physical security, information security, industrial security, and operations security.
