About the role
This position serves as an Office Support Assistant for the Santa Fe Indian Health Center in Santa Fe, NM. The purpose of this position is to provide a broad range of administrative, clerical, and program support services in support of daily office operations. This position reports to the supervisor of the assigned department of the Santa Fe Service Unit. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021). Provides administrative, clerical, and office support services to ensure efficient daily operations. Prepares, reviews, and maintains correspondence, reports, records, and other office documents. Coordinates schedules, meetings, travel arrangements, and related administrative activities. Assists with timekeeping, purchasing, inventory tracking, and maintenance of administrative records. Serves as a point of contact for staff, patients, visitors, and partner organizations by responding to inquiries and providing customer service. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-05: Applicant(s) must meet one of the following minimum requirements to meet the GS-05 level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Performing clerical or administrative support duties in an office setting; Receiving, reviewing, and routing correspondence or maintaining files and records; Providing customer service by responding to inquiries in person, by phone, or email; Entering or maintaining data in automated systems and assisting with routine office operations, OR Four (4) years of education beyond the high school level. Education must be obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university, OR Combination of education and experience that when fully combined meets the minimum qualifications for this position. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience. GS-06: Applicant(s) must meet the following minimum requirement to meet the GS-06 level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Independently performing administrative support duties in an office setting; Managing calendars, coordinating meetings or travel, and supporting office operations; Preparing and reviewing correspondence, reports, or other administrative documents; Maintaining and tracking records or data using office automation systems; Resolving routine administrative issues and coordinating with staff or external partners. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Background Investigation Requirement: This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment.
